Daisies

I am trying to get back to Daily Painting...still not yet there.  Must be the summer like weather we are experiencing here in Maine that keeps making me paint flowers.  Daisies is a pastel, 9 x 12, $100.

Pemaquid Light

Another beautiful spot in Maine, Pemaquid Light is an artists favorite place to paint. High on ledge, there is a picture from every angle.  I painted this view a couple of years ago and it recently sold to benefit the fabulous Lincoln Home in Damariscotta.  SOLD

Queen Anne's Lace on Blue

Waterfall in Spring

I have experienced spring this year in four different places: Florida, Colorado Kentucky and Maine.  March with my sister Sue; April as chief Dog walker while daughter Jenny recovered from a hip replacement; with friend Barbara at the Kentucky Derby to watch my grandaughter, Rosie, run for the Roses and finally here at home in Maine I have found time to paint this beautiful waterfall from my first spring.  This pastel painting is framed and measures 14" x 18".

Shack on Manana

Dogwood, Spanish Moss & Azaleas

Spending March with sister, Sue in Florida, gave me the opportunity to experience an early spring this year.  In addition to warm weather, the dogwoods and azaleas were in full bloom.  Who could resist painting them?  This is a framed  pastel,  14" x 18".   Questions? jfree@wildblue.net

Just Before the Storm

When I saw the storm coming, I jumped in the car, drove 1/2 mile and caught the rapidly moving light in a photo from which I painted this pastel. 8 x 10, pastel.

Monhegan Island Dinghies

I was lucky to spend time in this beautiful island last summer.  There are sketches, pictures and paintings to be made everywhere you turn.

My Daily Sketch....The iconic Adirondack chair.  I sketched this from a miniature chair made by my husband.  In all he made six as napkin rings to be used for  Lobstah suppahs.

Here I go with my first post...........I hope I will be able to connect with an artist I admire and who has a blog about sketching...............A DAILY SKETCH....it is such a great idea to keep us on our toes.
